Extended Care

Extended care is available before and after the camp day at our Shaker Heights Campus only.

Please note: Before-camp and after-camp care are NOT available the weeks of June 2, July 21, and July 28. Similar options will be offered.
Before-camp care begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. when the camp day begins. The cost is $55 per week, except for the shortened weeks. The week of June 16 is $44 and the week of June 30 is $44 (There are no camps 6/19 & 7/4).
After-camp care is available from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. and includes a snack and supervised activities such as swimming and open gym. The cost is $80 per week, except for the shortened weeks. The week of June 16 is $64 and the week of June 30 is $64 (There are no camps 6/19 & 7/4).

Shuttle Service

Bus transportation between the two University School campuses is available. The buses leave the Hunting Valley and Shaker Heights Campuses at convenient times for all camps. This schedule is subject to change based on rider enrollment. The cost of the inter-campus shuttle is $30 per week for one-way transportation and $60 per week for two-way transportation.

This shuttle departs and arrives at the Hunting Valley Campus student entrance and the Shaker Heights Campus Tower Door.

What is your refund policy?

If notification is received 30 days prior to the start of a camp, a full refund will be issued. The only exception is our Boys Day Camp, for this, full refunds can only be issued if notification is received on or before May 5, 2025.
How do I register my child for extended care program and/or shuttle bus service?

Our online registration includes an option to register for extended care and shuttle services.
What happens if there is inclement weather?

All US camps have the option of using our ample indoor facilities during inclement weather. We will not participate outdoors in lightning and severe weather, including extremely high heat indexes.
Can I register my son by the week for the Boys' Day Camp?

It is our belief that boys foster friendships and develop skills through group interaction on a daily basis over a period of time. Therefore, this is a full six-week camp; we do not segment the day camp into week-long periods.

We do offer many other one-week and two-week camps throughout the summer if that works better for your family.
What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is required in full by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express (with the exception of day camp which requires a $500 deposit with the remainder due in April).
Is there a registration deadline? Do camps sell out? Are there waiting lists?

We accept registrations right up to the start of camps where openings exist. Most camps do sell out, so early registration is encouraged. We establish wait lists for all camps, if necessary. The website is updated frequently to indicate those camps that are full. In the event a camp is filled, you can email summer@us.edu to be placed on a wait list.
My child is only attending academic classes. Do I still need to complete the Medical/Media Authorization Form?

Yes, all registrants, including University School students, are required to have a completed Medical/Media Authorization on file.
I've already registered my child for a camp and now want to add another camp. Do I have to complete another registration form?

No, for your convenience you can simply login to your account and add to your registration.
