For boys & girls entering grade 9 - 12
June 11 - July 13  •  1:30 pm - 3:40 pm

As artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation rapidly reach new milestones, we are taking greater stock in the human traits and skills we believe cannot be automated: imagination, creativity, and empathy. While engaging in a series of team project-based design challenges, students use design thinking to capitalize on soft skills, develop emergent leadership skills, and increase their knowledge of mathematics, materials science, physics, applied engineering, design principles, and fabrication techniques. Students are co-taught by an engineer and an artist/designer, and they will have access to a breadth of resources including CAD/CAM and 3D modeling software, 3D-printing and scanning, laser cutting, CNC machining, open-source electronics, and woodworking machinery. Students who successfully complete this course will earn a semester elective credit in science.
